  • Councilman Henry Davis, Jr's status on the South Bend Common Council

    We now know when Councilman Henry Davis, Jr. will have to face a judge. His preliminary trial date is set for August 11th. Police say they pulled Davis, Jr. over going the wrong-way on the Bypass early Saturday morning. They say he failed several field sobriety tests and blew a point 14. The councilman is scheduled to host a hearing in his district about the budget tomorrow.

  • Man revived by State Trooper after moped crash in Knox

    An 18-year-old is hospitalized after a Monday night moped accident in Knox, but could have been a lot worse if not for quick aid from police.Indiana State Police report Arthur Johnson was riding his 2012 Toa Toa moped in the 1900 block of College Ave. just before 10:30pm. They say he lost control of his moped, and struck his head when the moped fell on its side. Police say Johnson lost consciousness after his head struck the ground, as he was not wearing a helmet.

  • Elkhart City Council votes not to annex area 10 while other areas pass with little or no opposition

    The Elkhart City Council met to vote on the annexation of six areas in Elkhart County in front of a crowded Council Chambers. The areas being voted on were Toledo Road and County Road 13, Beck Drive and County Road 17, State Road 19 and County Road 4, County Road 6 and County Road 7, 54230 County Road 5 and the controversial Toledo Road and County Road 17 area.
