Glee Is Back!
Sep 21st, 2010
The time has come Gleeks! The Fox hit returns tonight for a second season that will feature new characters, big-named guest stars (Ms. Britney Spears!) and of course, hot new music.
The appearances of teen pop star Charice and John Stamos will surely throw some wrenches into the lives of the McKinley High crew, but the characters must also resolve some of the drama from season one. Finn reportedly "becomes an inadvertent victim of the faculty clash and has to cope with the fallout while nurturing his reignited romance with Rachel." Meanwhile Quinn is "back in pre-pregnancy form and ready to reclaim her spot as Cheerios queen bee."
- Creator Ryan Murphy explained that a big change in season two will be the development of the supporting cast. He explained, "Well instead of going bigger and, ya know overstuffing season two, which I think people would expect us to do, let's go under it. Lets really sort of dwell on a lot of these supporting characters like, ya know, the Santana character and the Brittney character and the Mike Chang character and the Tina character. So, we're giving all those actors big storylines this year because I think people want to know about them and last year, ya know, because we were with Idol in the second half of the season I personally, kind of, blew it out like that Madonna episode had nine number which is insane. So we're scaling it back a little bit and concentrating more on the stories and now I think we're going to do five or six songs, but that's just because I felt we were learning as we went."
- Murphy also revealed some clues about the first few episodes: ["The first episode back is called "Auditions" and it's about the idea that everybody, even if you're not in high school, your daily life is an audition for something, so that's a theme. The third episode, which I think is our most controversial one we've ever done, is about faith and has our kids talking about what God means to them."
