Words To Live By
Jan 25th, 2010
AJ has been on this self-help kick. He read that the best way to change your behavior is by first changing your mind.
For instance, if you want to start working out, rather than just trying to force yourself to go to the gym, you should ingrain the thought that, 'In order to feel both mentally and physically well, I need to workout 3 times a week.'
So Rob and AJ asked you to call in with the phrase or motto you live by. Here's what you said:
"He or she who angers you, controls you."
"You can clutch the past so tightly to your chest that it leaves your arms too full to embrace the present."
"Bloom where you're planted."
"Believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see."
"What other people think about you is none of business." (Rob's)
"A year from now, you'll wish you had started today."
"Nothing tastes as good, as being thin feels."
When shopping ask yourself, "Do I really need it?"
"Stop trying to figure all of this out in light of the consequences. Focus on the reality of what is and not what might be."
“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass…its learning to dance in the rain.”
“Shut up and work, or at least shut up!”
"Stay hungry, Stay Foolish."
"Always remember there comes a point when all you can do is laugh."
"The only thing that you actually own in your whole life is your attitude"
"Never argue with an idiot, he'll drag you to his level and beat you with experience."
"We have no right to ask when something bad happens, 'Why did this happen to me?' unless we ask the same question for every good thing that comes our way."
"All our dreams can come true - if we have the courage to pursue them." - Walt Disney
"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." - Dr. Seuss
"Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people." - Eleanor Roosevelt
"I think high self-esteem is overrated. A little low self-esteem is actually quite good…Maybe you're not the best, so you should work a little harder." - Jay Leno
"Quit now, you'll never make it. If you disregard this advice, you'll be halfway there." - David Zucker
"Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." - Thomas Edison
"One should examine oneself for a very long time before thinking of condemning others." - Moliere
