    The Goshen Police Department responded to a call on Thursday afternoon regarding animals that appeared to be abandoned or neglected. Officers responded to the call on the 400 block of 8th Street and found several cats and dogs in need of care.

    A week from Saturday, there is a big disc golf tournament coming to South Bend. It's called the Bacon Classic and organizers are using it to help fund improvements to the course in South Bend. The Doubles Tournament is August 2nd. It's only $40 for a team and you get 2 rounds of 18 holes. They'll start registration at 7:30 with tee time around 9 am.     Elkhart motorists may have to watch their distance when passing bicyclists. The Public Health and Safety Committee of the Elkhart City Council held a meeting to discuss an ordinance which would establish a minimum three-foot passing distance for motor vehicles passing bicyclists.
