  • Burkina official: Plane wreckage found in Mali

    The wreckage of the Air Algeria plane that went missing Thursday has been found about 50 kilometers (31 miles) from the border of Burkina Faso near the village of Boulikessi in Mali, a presidential aide said.

    The Mishawaka Parks Department is trying to combat a reported increase in vandalism of bathrooms in city parks.To reduce vandalism, the Mishawaka Parks Department says they will now be closing all bathrooms in city parks will close at 10:30pm. Mishawaka Police are increasing their patrols in and around city parks as well. Mishawaka Police are encouraging the public to help reporting vandalism.

  • LaPorte man arrested for disorderly conduct, allegedly bit a pool cue in half and sniffed glue

    Police received a call early this morning of a man asking for rides, then yelling obscenities and punching the hood of a car after not getting any. Police checked the 300 block of Park St. area for the subject and saw a man exit JJ's Sideout Bar. The man asked police if they were following up a report for a suspicious man.

  • UPDATE: Missing elderly man found safe in White Pigeon

    UPDATE: The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports Charles Rusher has been found safe in White Pigeon, MI. Police say they received a call shortly after 8:20am Thursday morning. A homeowner in White Pigeon reportedly found that Rusher had broken into their home during the night and fallen asleep on a couch. The homeowner is not pressing charges, and said Rusher was extremely disoriented and could not recall how he gotten there.
