  • Dowagiac looking for funding to destroy vacant building

    Leader Publications report Dowagiac City Council voted unanimously to apply for a grant to Michigan's blight elimination program. The City seeks to remove a building many consider a detraction from downtown. It sits near the railroad tracks on Division Street. According to Leader Publications, if the City's grant application is approved, the program could give the city up to $250,000 to help demolish the building.
