    A northern Indiana man paroled in 2010 after serving time for killing a family friend has been convicted in the fatal shootings of his brother and sister-in-law.

  • Elkhart County Council approves income tax raise

    Income taxes for Elkhart County residents will be on the rise next year.The County Council approved a 0.5% raise of the tax in a 4-3 vote Wednesday, after holding public meetings on the 2015 budget all week.

  • Steven Clippinger found guilty in double-homicide

    A judge has found Steven Clippinger guilty of killing his brother and his sister-in-law. The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's office released a statement on the guilty verdict. Clippinger was on trial for the shooting deaths of Matthew and Lisa Clippinger in their Mishawaka home on June 2, 2012. His girlfriend, Jennifer Leveque, was previously found guilty in connection with the murders.Clippinger will be sentenced at a later date.

  • Indiana gets poor ranking in Girl Scout study

    The Girl Scouts do a study every year on the well being of girls across the country. In Indiana...we didn't do so well. We're ranked 36 of 50."There are some deficiencies in, you know, some of the health related issues. The girls in our state are not as maybe active as girls in other areas areas," said Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana's Chris Ford. The Girl Scout study looks at the welfare of girls aged 5 to 17 based on economic, educational, and health data.

  • Felony charge filed against recess aide at Mishawaka elementary school

    UPDATE: Michael Peck, listed as a recess aide on the LaSalle Elementary school website, has been arrested and charged with a felony count of Criminal Confinement, and misdemeanor counts of Battery and Public Nudity.
