    As part of Black History Month 2016 in Michiana, IU South Bend's Civil Rights Heritage Center, is working to preserve local black history. At an event Wednesday, folks from the black community were invited to bring their own pieces of history to the center for preservation.

    The red lights aren't yet flashing for the $100,000 worth of body cameras at the Elkhart Police Department."The hard part for us is more dealing with the outside vendor and when they can get them in and when they can do the install." Sgt. Chris Snyder of Elkhart Police said.

  • Winter businesses take advantage of Michiana snowfall

    The winter weather wasn't all bad news.Some took advantage of it, before it stopped. Jane Eleff, an avid skier, got to dust off her cross country skies Wednesday afternoon. "The skiing out here is beautiful," said Eleff. A fresh layer of snow is all it took. "It's a little bit like going back to my childhood," said Eleff. She wasn't the only one out enjoying the weather. 

  • Lake-effect snow showers pound northern Indiana counties

    Authorities say lake-effect snow showers reducing visibility to near zero at times have led to multiple crashes and slide-offs in northern Indiana.
