    A man calls police and says he found a bullet in his bed just hours after hearing a loud noise.It happened in La Porte on Fairfield Avenue.The family says they heard a loud noise hours before they found the bullet.Neighbors in the area also say they heard a loud pop or banging noise outside of their home yesterday morning.If you have any information you are asked to call the La Porte Police Department at 362-9446.

    The U.S. government says that Heroin Deaths are spiking in the Midwest.The report say that people who die from overdoes in the U-S now tend to be young, white and live in the Midwest.This is a shift from 15 years ago when the death rate was highest among older blacks in the West and Northeast had the biggest heroin problems.Some experts blame recent laws on painkillers at a time when the heroin supply has been increasing.

  • Van Buren man arrested for having drugs and a weapon on him

    We now know the name of a 20-year-old man arrested for having drugs and a weapon on him.Van Buren county police say Austin Owens was hanging around a a Dollar General last week.When police started asking him questions he said that he could be searched and didn't have anything on him.Then they found a pistol and a bag of meth in his pocked.He is currently sitting in the county jail, waiting to go before a judge.
