    MADISON (WKOW) -- It's match week for the Salvation Army's Red Kettle campaign. Through Saturday all donations will be doubled, and one donor's gift will go a really long way. The Salvation Army says an anonymous donor dropped a 1 ounce South African gold coin worth about $1,200 into the red kettle at Hy-Vee on Madison's west side. That's the rallying cry chanted by demonstrators over the lack of indictment against a New York police officer in the choking death of Eric Garner.

  • South Bend Man Accused Of Shooting Housemate After Argument

    A South Bend man is in custody after police say he shot his housemate in the forearm during an argument. It happened around 11 this morning in the 900 block of Golden Avenue. Police say 59-year-old Mark Gates shot his roommate, a 31-year-old man, during a confrontation. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Gates is expected to be charged with aggravated battery.

  • South Bend Police Officer Suspended 90 Days

    A South Bend Police Officer is suspended without pay by the South Bend Board of Public Safety. He had being accused of lying about serving a child support arrest warrant.
