  • Leveque convicted for role in 2012 double homicide

    Jenifer Leveque was convicted Tuesday after police say she gave a gun to murder suspect Steven Clippinger that he allegedly used in a 2012 double homicide.Leveque's bench trial was held on Sept. 8. A verdict was returned Tuesday finding her guilty of Assisting a Criminal and Transfer of a Handgun to a Felon. She is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 3. Both counts are Class C felonies.

  • UPDATE: Gas leak in Benton Township

    11:30am UPDATE: Benton Township Police say evacuation orders remain in place for the affected area. Roadblocks remain in place and air quality checks are being performed. Police are waiting on more information from TransCanada before issuing any more information on when people can return to their homes. The American Red Cross has set up a temporary shelter for displaced residents. It's located at the Mason Lodge at 3661 E. Napier Ave.
