  • Sanders, Trump come away the winners in New Hampshire Primary

    It was no surprise that Donald Trump took the lead and stayed there among the Republican choices for voters in the New Hampshire primary Tuesday night. And the Hillary Clinton camp never expected to take the Granite State, leaving Bernie Sanders as the Democrats top choice. But it was the margin of his win, and the jockeying among second and third place on the Republican side that did deliver some excitement. 

  • Dowagiac businesses donate 14,000 water bottles to Flint residents

    Leader Publications report  14,000 water bottles were collected in Dowagiac for the Flint water crisis. Dowagiac business owners started the water drive. According to Leader Publications they delivered the 14 skids worth of water to relief organizations in Flint this past weekend.

    South Bend has had little ladies and their fathers gather at the Century Center for the past 16 years for their "Daddy-Daughter Dance", thanks to the South Bend Parks and Recreation Department.   • Lincoln artifact to be displayed and Indiana State Museum

    It's Lincoln's bench mallet, dating back 188 -years. It was originally used as a splitting maul by Lincoln to set iron wedges in logs creating split rails for fencing, but the maul head eventually broke in half, so he decided to make it into a bench mallet.

  • Michigan reports first pediatric flu death this season

    The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says the first incident of a child dying from the flu during the 2015-2016 season has occurred. The death was that of a school-aged child from Southeastern Michigan. The flu season has been somewhat mild in Michigan so far, but the health department is urging everyone ages six months and older get a yearly flu shot.
