  • 100K Indy 500 race fans to join winner Sunday as part of traditional milk "toast"

    (FOX59/WXIN)--Sunday's winner of the Indianapolis 500 will be joined by some 100,000 others in the ceremonial chug of milk at the Speedway. The tradition that started in 1936 will see volunteers from the American Dairy Association handing out 16 oz. pints of milk to spectators sitting in the grandstands along the front stretch. 

  • Pedestrian hit by vehicle in Elkhart

    In a release from the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department, a pedestrian is now in the hospital after being hit by a vehicle on CR 20.  

  • EPA and state officials talk with South Bend citizens about testing at LaSalle Park

    LaSalle Park in South Bend will undergo testing this Summer as the E-P-A checks for contamination left behind from products dumped by the Bendix Corp.. The EPA, State Department of Environmental Management, Honeywell (formerly Bendix) and city officials gathered at the Charles Black Rec Center Tuesday evening to address any public concerns over what's planned.   

  • Beacon Health celebrating expansion of South Bend Medicine Center

    Beacon Health System showed off its newly expanded E. Blair Warner Family Medicine Center on Tuesday. The Michigan Avenue Clinic finished a 13,500 square foot expansion project to the tune of $4.5 million. The expansion doubles the center's size, providing more patient services. 

  • GOP board member blocks Indiana State campus voting site

    A Republican county election board member has blocked a proposed voting center on the Indiana State University campus.
